Athiya Shetty looked angelic in her pastel pink lehenga, and we can’t help but reminisce about the bridal look of other actresses who ditched red for their bridal wear. So, let’s look at 10 actresses, from the brand-new bride Athiya Shetty to Aishwarya Rai, who took the road less traveled for their bridal look…..
Athiya Shetty
A perfect blend of modernity and tradition, Athiya’s ethereal rose lehenga crafted with fine Chikankari, zardozi, and jaali ka kaam, is one of Anamika Khanna’s finest works.
The veil and dupatta are made of silk organza, the gorgeous lehenga is entirely handmade and hand-woven, and if reports are to be believed, it took almost 10,000 hours, that is 416 days, to bring this exquisite lehenga to fruition.
Athiya paired her lehenga with a full-sleeved blouse and completed the look with heavy jewelry, including a stone-encrusted necklace, maang teeka, and matching earrings. With a dewy makeup look and hair tied in a bun, she looked truly divine.
Alia Bhatt
The #Ralia tied the knot on 15th April 2022 in a very private ceremony at their favorite spot on the balcony of their house in Chembur, Mumbai, in the presence of just close friends and family. Sabyasachi is the go-to designer for Bollywood couples for their D-day, and the couple also went ahead with him.
Summer wedding and that too in the unforgiving Mumbai temperature, hence the couple decided to white and gold color tones. Ditching the traditional red lehenga, Alia wore a hand-dyed ivory organza sari with an embroidered hand-woven tissue veil.
Alia’s makeup was done so beautifully by Puneet B Saini; she went for a subtle no-makeup look for her wedding with just a touch of mascara, a hint of rogue on the lips along with the bridal glow on her face made Alia look very dreamy.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya ditched the traditional red lehenga for her wedding back in 2007!! Aishwarya and Abhishek got married on 20th April 2007 in a private ceremony at Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, Prateeksha, in Mumbai.
Clad in a silk kanjeevaram saree, dewy makeup, vintage gold jewelry, and floral and gold-pleated hair accessories, Aishwarya looked like a dream on her wedding day. With her simple yet elegant look and letting her sharp features steal the show, Aish was way ahead of her time, and undoubtedly the diva set the trends right for future brides to follow.
Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma is the reason you see Pink wedding lehengas becoming so common in weddings around you; she made it a trend big time by making that unconventional choice for her wedding day. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli tied the knot on 11th December 2017 in a hush-hush affair in Tuscany, Italy, after dating for a long time.
Anushka wore a pastel pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery with pearls, beads, and silver-gold metal threads.
To complete her look, Anushka went ahead with handcrafted jewelry, which included a choker, earrings, and matha patti from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection.
With a low bun covered with Tuscan hydrangeas to seal the deal of her simple, delicate, and classic bridal look, Anushka couldn’t have looked more beautiful.

For her Hindu ceremony, Asin opted for a golden lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, ditching the oh-so-predictable red attire. Asin looked mesmerizingly beautiful in her lehenga that had a thick maroon detailing at the hem, along with her Kundan jewelry to complete the look.
