Don is the latest Tamil-language movie in the comedy genre. This movie is written and directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi and his directorial debut. The film was first announced in January 2021and the production began between February–December 2021. The shooting locations of the movie are Coimbatore, Chennai, Pollachi, and Udumalaipettai, with a song filmed in Agra.
Don is released on 13 May 2022 and has gained immense praise and positive reviews from critics and audiences. The cast performances (mainly Sivakarthikeyan, S. J. Suryah, and Samuthirakani), social message, background score, music, screenplay, and emotional balance, have been liked immensely.
The Storyline of Tamil Movie Don Chakaravarthi (Sivakarthikeyan), the main lead of the movie Don has a strict father (Samuthirakani) and he describes him as the “sirappana tharamana villain” in his life because he wants him to study hard. But Chakaravarthi wants to gain a name and fame without studying. Now the drama of his life keeps on increasing, and he struggles to find what he actually wants to do with his life. Eventually, he lands in the soul-sucking environment—an engineering college where he finds a more strict and disciplined man Boominathan (SJ Suryah). The situation in his life becomes even worse.
The movie will appeal to both the younger and older audience as the first half is meant for the youth, whereas the second half is dedicated to a family audience. The movie revolves around the conflict between Chakaravarthi- the college’s Don, Boomi, and Sivakarthikeyan. The moves and counter-moves they all perceive to bring each other down are what the movie is all about. Wit, humour, romance, and every emotion that is required for a power-packed movie can be found in the movie Don.
