Director Mridul Mahendra and producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Sunita Gowariker came together to make the movie Toolsidas Junior. With Sanjay Dutt and Rajiv Kapoor in the lead roles, Dalip Tahil and Varun Buddhadev appear in supporting roles. The movie was released on May 21, 2022, on Sony Max. Rajiv Kapoor made his final film appearance before he passed away in February 2021.
Toolsidas Junior: Storyline The movie starts with Toolsidas (the character played by Late Rajeev Kapoor) playing Snooker . He is a champion of Snooker and practising for the upcoming Snooker championship—Toolsidas son Mridul a.k.a. “Midi,” who is very close to him. Midi is excellent at aiming. He used to go to the fair with his brother and play the aiming games and win prizes. Midi has a friend named Pia and all his friends and his brother tease him because Pia is more prominent in height than Midi. The two brothers enjoy the fair and also Gamble, so Midi’s brother tells him not to tell mom and dad about gambling.
In the night, Toolsidas and his son Midi are lying on the bed, and Toolsidas promises his son that Midi will lift the Championship trophy on his behalf and he will definitely win the championship.
The next day, the Championship started; Toolsidas won the league matches and was promoted to the top 4; he beat his opponent and became the 1st finalist of the Championship. On the other hand, Jimmy Tandon(his wealthy lousy opponent) also won all the league matches and became a finalist. Jimmy London doesn’t want Toolsidas to win the championship, so he cheats in the match and becomes the winner. Tulsidas didn’t digest that the rich lousy guy cheated and defeated him. He burst with anger, broke his snooker stick, and got a heart attack because of anxiety. Toolsidas passed away in hospital and due to this incident
Midi broke from inside, but he kept himself vital and made an aim in his life to win that championship and wanted his father’s name on the Leaderboards, so he changed his name from Midi to Toolsidas Junior.
The movie’s main story begins when Toolsidas meets Mohammed Salaam (A character played by Sanjay Dutt) and convinces him to teach him snooker. The chemistry of Sanjay Dutt and Midi makes you laugh. The movie’s first half is slow, but the second half is full of humour, comedy, and punch lines. So, don’t miss the film and give it a try.
