City of Dreams: Season 1- Storyline Season 1 of the series portrays the harsh and unbelievable legacy of Indian politics in the city of Mumbai. A kind of politics where there’s no room for mercy and humanity, there’s only room for this one aspect, which is to attain the top position and nothing else.
Season 1 begins with the assassination attack on Mumbai’s one of the most powerful and influential politicians, named Ameya Rao Gaikwad. Being brutally injured by the assassination, Ameya fights for his life while on the other hand, his two children, Ashish and Poornima, are battling with each other for their father’s position and powers.
Ashish is the perfect example of a rich spoiled brat and is a drug addict, hence, clearly is not capable enough to face the nuisance of politics, especially in a world where it’s all about power. Even after all that, he considers himself to be already successful on this path, just because he is a man.
Poornima on the other hand has settled perfectly in her married life, but after her father’s assassination, she gets this idea of proving her worth to everyone and stands still on her decision.
All of this leads to a very heated and agitated sibling rivalry that ends in Poornima killing her own brother and ousting her father in politics.
