On a very random day, I was scrolling on Netflix to find something interesting to watch. And Netflix suggested me Heartstopper. I clicked on it and started watching the series. Eventually, that became one of my favourite series. Heartstopper is a rom-com series and is based on a graphic novel created by Alice Oseman .
Heartsopper received positive views from queer people and also from the young audience. After watching the series, many people came out as lgbtqia+. Season 1 received so much love and also some criticism from homophobes. I am sure that Season 2 will receive more love.
Heartstopper Overview Heartstopper is a story about young teenagers who soon become friends and more. The main protagonists of the series are Nick and Charlie who become bench partners and then lovers. But getting into a relationship was not easy for them.
So many miscommunications happened between them. On the other side Tara and Darcy who haven’t officially came out as girlfriends face homophobic comments from their classmates and other people. Elle accepts that she likes Tao but things are not that easy no?
Heartstopper Season 1 Plot Charlie Spring is in a relationship with his senior Ben. On the first day of his school he is asked to sit behind “rugby player” Nick. One day, Charlie sees Ben kissing a girl and confronts him that he doesn’t want to meet him again.
But, after a while they both face each other and Ben tries to forcefully kiss Charlie. Fortunately, Nick comes and pushes Ben. Charlie vents out to Nick about his relationship. But Charlie’s friend Tao thinks that Nick is hetrosexual and will soon bully Charlie like his friend Harry does.
Moreover, Tao informs that he is in love with a girl named Tara Jones. But later it gets clear when Elle informs them that Tara is in a lesbian relationship with Darcy.
Everything gets on track but Imogen, a girl proposes to Nick and in peer pressure, Nick accepts her proposal. Elle and Tao listen to that but soon Nick clears everything with Imogen.
Also, Nick still gets confused about his sexuality, whether he is a bisexual or gay. Charlie tells him to take some time and Nick goes to Tara and Darcy for some advice.
They suggest him to go on a double date with them and Charlie agrees. Moreover, Elle accepts her feelings for Tao and then they plan a triple date.
But soon Elle informs them that she doesn’t want to spoil her relationship with her best friend so she will not confess.
But problems keep waiting for Nick and Charlie. Nick invites Charlie to the cinemas and tells him that his bully friends Harry and Ben will not be there. Unfortunately Harry and Ben join them and after the movie they bully Charlie for his sexuality.
Nick ends up fighting with Harry and Harry gets suspended from the school. Things get terrible between Charlie and Nick but soon they sort out things.
Heartstopper Season 1 was amazing. It portrayed friendship, relationship and the reality of gay people who get bullied by their colleagues, classmate and sometimes by even their friends also.
Of course there are more things which happened in the series. To know the full story you should definitely watch the series.
Is Heartstopper Season 2 Going To Be Out Or Is It Cancelled ? The answer is yes. And I am hell excited about it. Netflix confirmed that Hearstopper will return with Season 2 soon. Heartstopper Season 1 was based on Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the graphic novels. So, we hope that the next season will be based on Volume 3.
Heartstopper Season 2 Plot (Expected) Heartstopper Season 2 will be based on Volume 3 as expected. The ones who read the graphic novels already know what is gonna happen and I am one of them. But, I am not going to tell you the whole plot. So don’t stress, I will only give you some hints about it.
In Season 1, we saw a great bond between Elle and Tao. Besides that, Elle gets a crush on Tao but in fear of losing the friendship she refuses to confess her feelings.
I don’t know about others but while watching Season 1, I got a hint that even Tao has a crush on Elle. Please don’t tell me that I am the only one who thinks that.
During an interview the stars, Yasmin Finney and William Gao said that ‘Their love story blossoms in season two, at least in the second book. It blossoms and this flower opens out of this love between them.’
‘What was once such a strong beautiful friendship has turned into a beautiful relationship,’ said Yasmin
We all can clearly see something cooking between them in Season 2. Also, Charlie and Nick will go on a Paris Trip together. Season 2 will definitely have cute moments, misunderstandings, reassurance and more.
Because a relationship has ups and downs. The main fear of Charlie is if Nick wants to come out as a bisexual.
Also, another plot of Season 2 is that Nick’s elder brother David will be introduced. What do you think will be David’s reaction when Nick will tell him that he is bisexual. Is he going to be judgy? Or supportive?
Also, the author of the book said “But I like to think that it’s possible. I feel like I have achieved it in the books. I’ve been able to be very candid about mental health, and I explored that in a real way, while not writing something that’s intensely triggering or really dark and horrible to read or watch. So that is very much my goal for the show.”

Wrapping Up If you have not watched Season 1 then I really recommend you to watch it as soon as possible. I am really glad that a series like heartstopper aired on Netflix. I started watching the first episode and then I ended up watching the whole series in a single day. Yes, I love binge watching and the series was literally worth it.
After watching the series I got to know that how the society makes it to hard for the queer people to live. They judge, they pass weird comments and more. I think if someone doesn’t like a person who belongs to lgbtqia then he/she should ignore them and not heckle them.
