When Kavya came to Delhi to shop for a lehenga for her marriage, she didn’t expect herself to fall in love with Humpty, a flirtatious and carefree man.
‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania,’ released in 2014, stars Varun Dhawan, recently seen in Bhediya , Alia Bhatt, and debutante Sidharth Shukla . The movie became a box-office success soon after its release. It also has a sequel named ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania ,’ which was released in 2017.
The Storyline of the Movie ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ Kavya (Alia Bhatt ), who lives in Ambala with her family, is a clever Punjabi girl about to have an arranged marriage with an NRI American doctor. When her father refuses to buy her the expensive bridal dress that her friend had bought, she decides to take matters into her hand.
Determined to buy the dress with her own money, she leaves for Delhi and lives with her cousin’s family, where she meets Humpty (Varun Dhawan) for the first time. After their encounter, Humpty is interested in Kavya and starts chasing her. Kavya refuses all his advances, but after a lot of chasing from Humpty’s side, she befriends him.
Humpty promises Kavya that he’ll help her buy the dress she has been looking for, but it gets difficult when they find out that Kavya’s friend Gurpreet (Guncha Narula) had lied about the price of the dress. The movie continues with Kavya and Humpty helping her cousin out with Gurpreet’s ex-boyfriend. As Kavya’s time in Delhi was coming to an end, both Humpty and Kavya realized their feelings for each other.
They were more than friends to each other, but the two could not enter a relationship because of Kavya’s marriage that her father had arranged. Kavya leaves for Ambala, and Humpty soon follows behind her to win her back and face her father and brothers.
