A young college lecturer falls in love at first sight with a woman he met at a temple who later turns out to be his brother-in-law’s sister.
The movie ‘Geetha Govindam’, directed by Parasuram, is a Telugu language romantic comedy film. The film was a huge commercial success, grossing huge profits over a relatively smaller budget.
Starring Vijay Deverakonda made his debut with Liger and Rashmika Mandanna, who put her foot into Bollywood with the movie Goodbye and Mission Majnu ; the film received many positive criticisms soon after its release about the film’s plot, performance, and production. The Storyline of the Movie ‘Geetha Govindam’ The movie starts with a scene where a girl’s car breaks down in the middle of a road. She asks for help from Vijay (Vijay Deverakonda), who was passing by at that time. He agrees to help her in exchange for her listening to his story. The movie then continues with the Vijay reciting the story of his first love Geetha (Rashmika Mandanna).
He meets Geetha for the first time in a temple and falls in love with her. Upon realizing that Geetha is unmarried, Vijay wants to ask for Geetha’s hand in marriage. After returning to his home, Vijay is informed about his sister’s marriage and leaves for Kakinada, but to his surprise and pleasure, his co-passenger on the bus turns out to be Geetha. Vijay tries to win Geetha over but fails miserably, as he ends up kissing her without her permission. Furious, Geetha misunderstands Vijay and accuses him of taking advantage of her.
She ties Vijay to the seat and waits for her brother to meet her at the next station, but Vijay succeeds in freeing himself and runs away. Feeling relieved, Vijay attends his sisters’ engagement but is shocked to see that Geetha is his brother-in-law’s sister and that, at this point, she has zero interest in befriending Vijay.
