Watch Kangana Ranaut’s career-best acting performances in the movie Queen.
In what is touted as one of the best performances of Kangana Ranaut’s career, you will go on a journey of self-love with Rani as she gets hold of her life, learns to stand up for herself, and realizes her worth.
The Storyline of The Movie ‘Queen’
Rani is a shy and timid Delhi girl from a very conservative family. Her overprotective family doesn’t let her go anywhere alone, and her younger brother accompanies her everywhere, which is the major reason for her lack of confidence in life.
The movie begins with wedding festivities at Rani’s place as she is about to get married to her long-time beau Vijay. Nonetheless, her happiness is short-lived as Vijay calls off the wedding, citing incompatibility issues between the two, as he lives abroad and, as per him, Rani won’t be able to adjust outside Delhi.
The world came crashing down on Rani even after molding herself according to Vijay’s likes and dislikes, and he left her. She doesn’t eat food and cries nonstop for some days till her grandmother knocks her out of her pitty shell and explains to her how life doesn’t stop if someone leaves us midway; you have to keep moving forward. That is when she seeks permission from her parents to go on the pre-planned honeymoon alone, where Vijay and Rani were supposed to go together.
From here on begins Rani’s journey of self-discovery; from being the girl who never steps out of her house by herself, she travels to Amsterdam and Paris alone. In Paris, Rani meets the adventurous and free-spirited Vijaylakshmi, a.k.a Vijay, with whom she experiences life at a different tangent altogether. With Vijaylakshmi, Rani drinks alcohol, dances her heart out at a club and lives a life devoid of any rules.
While on a shopping spree with Vijay, Rani tries on what she deems as a revealing dress and clicks a selfie, and sends it to the wrong Vijay by mistake. Unbeknownst to her, Vijay starts finding her.
Bidding goodbye to Vijaylakshmi, Rani moves to Amsterdam, where she has to share a room with three guys! Hesitant at first, Rani goes on to form an amazing bond with the boys and explores the city with them. Rani visited a sex shop, befriended a pole dancer, took part in a cooking competition and ended up winning it, and kissed a french guy.
While Rani is enjoying her trip and newfound freedom, Vijay decides to drop in front of Rani’s hotel. Rani asks him to meet at a restaurant she frequents; at their meeting, Vijay sees a totally different Rani, who is well-dressed, well-spoken, and confident. He tries to convince her to forgive him and marry him. However, Rani leaves abruptly and asks him to meet her in Delhi. Rani straight away goes to the concert and meets her friends for the last time before leaving for India.
Back home in Delhi, everyone is surprised to see Rani 2.0. She visits Vijay at his home and gives him back his engagement ring while thanking him for leaving her. The movie ends with Rani walking back to her home with a smile and a sense of calmness on her face.
