Mohabbatein is a 2000 Romantic drama movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan , and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (listed in top searched Bollywood celebrities 2022) as the main lead. Written by Aditya Chopra, Mohabbatein is one of the most celebrated love stories of that decade, it is inspired by the 1989 coming of age, American drama, Dead Poets Society. Mohabbatein offers melodious songs, electrifying dance performances, drama, and comedy along with Shah Rukh and Aishwarya’s magical chemistry.
The Storyline of the Movie ‘Mohabbatein’ ‘Tradition, Excellence, and Discipline’ are the three pillars on which Narayan Shankar administers his ‘Gurukul’ which is the most prestigious educational institution in the nation. Narayan Shankar is someone who doesn’t bend his rules for anyone, he reminds his students, again and again, to abide by the rules of this institution, or else, they won’t be accepted by any university if they are rusticated from Gurukul.
In the most recent batch of Gurukul, came three young boys from different family backgrounds, however, they become best of friends. Sameer, Vicky, and Karan dared to break the most important rule of Gurukul and fell in love, amidst Narayan’s ‘no-romance policy’. Narayan Shankar tightened the rules, on becoming aware of what the boys were up to!
The luck was in favor of the boys and their knight in shining armor entered in form of ‘Raj Aryan’, the music teacher hired by Narayan Shankar. Raj encouraged the boys to follow their hearts and continue meeting the girls by defying the rules.
Why is Raj after Narayan and his rules? What is it that motivates Raj to stand against Narayan Shankar so strongly? Are some questions that Mr. Narayan couldn’t find answers to.
Nonetheless, Raj reveals to Narayan Shankar that he was the boyfriend of his daughter, Megha. Megha died by suicide after the stubborn Narayan Shankar disapproved of their union.
The story ends with Narayan Shankar realizing his mistakes, apologizing to his students, and resigning from his position.
