Vidyut Jammwal will feature in an eminent role in the upcoming action-drama, Sher Singh Raana, directed by Shree Narrayan Singh.
Sher Singh Rana is known for many things in his life and one of them is for bringing back the ashes of Prithviraj Chauhan from Afghanistan after 800 years. The fact that action hero Vidyut Jammwal last appeared in Khuda Hafiz chapter 2 , has been roped in for the role of Sher Singh Rana in his first-ever biopic makes it all the more intriguing.
On 28th March 2022, Vidyut Jammwal announced via his Twitter handle @VidyutJammwa l that he will be playing the role of Sher Singh Raana in his biopic.
Sher Singh Raana Movie Plot As far as we know, Sher Singh Raana is a biopic drama of a staunch Rajput leader who goes by the same name. Sher Singh Rana became known worldwide as a ferocious leader when he brought back the remains of the prominent ruler of the Chauhan dynasty, Prithviraj Chauhan from Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, producer Vinod Bhanushali, said that,
‘’Sher Singh Raaja’ will shed light on a story that created a stir in India years ago. The audience will see Vidyut Jammwal in a never seen before character and the vision Shree Narrayan Singh will bring to the screen is definitely going to be gripping.’
Hopefully, Sher Singh Raana will take you to the 11th-century time period of Prithviraj Chauhan for some time along with Sher Singh Rana in 2004 to witness the dangerous journey he undertook to bring back the 800-year-old ashes of Prithviraj Chauhan, the pride of India, vicariously.
Trailer of the movie: Sher Singh Raana’s official trailer has not been released as of yet. It is expected to release sometime around September – October 2023. Fans are waiting eagerly to get a glimpse of the movie, its cast, and the look of the actors, and get an idea about the plot of the movie.

The Controversy Surrounding the Movie ahead of its Release Sher Singh Rana is infamous for killing off Phulan Devi. Criminal turned politician, Sher Singh Rana didn’t always go by that name, his real name is Pankaj Singh Pundir. Born on 17 May 1975 to a Rajput family, Sher Singh has always been proud of his lineage and roots.
On 25th July 2001, he killed Phoolan Devi, the Bandit queen of India, outside her home in New Delhi. At that time Phoolan Devi was a sitting member of the 13th Lok Sabha. Coming to his motive for doing so, Sher Singh Rana disclosed in the court that he killed Phoolan Devi to avenge the death of twenty-two men of his caste who were killed by her in the 1970s and 1980s.
After his surrender, Sher Singh Rana was arrested and kept in Tihar jail, however, he managed to flee from the jail on 17th February 2004 with the help of his friends and family. Posing as Sanjay, Sher Sing Rana traveled to Afghanistan to bring back the mortal remains of Prithvi Raj Chauhan. He even uploaded a video of himself doing so, how he didn’t get caught in India and Afghanistan is beyond the understanding of one’s mind.
This act of Sher Singh Rana made him a hero in a certain section’s eyes while other still hailed him as the assassin of Phoolann Devi. The latter don’t want Sher Singh Rana, a murderer, and jailbreak, to be glorified and hailed as the nation’s hero in the movie.
They want the movie to show both sides of the coin without any bias. There are chances of the clash of these two groups at the time of the release of the movie!
