Yash Raj Film has never disappointed the audience with the plot and performance of any of their movies, and among those classic movies is ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’. Produced by Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra, it was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. Mayur Puri and Aditya Chopra came up with the idea for the story, and Mayur Puri and Sanjay Gadhvi wrote the script and the dialogue.
The cheesy, quirky plot, romance, and drama of the film, which debuted on 07 June 2002, make it the ideal recipe for a box office smash. The movie features Uday Chopra, Tulip Joshi, Jimmy Sheirgill (recently seen in Operation Mayfair ), and Bipasha Basu also appeared in Dangerous Season 2 , all of whom received high praise for their roles.
The Storyline of the Movie ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ The movie revolves around two childhood friends, Sanjay (Uday Chopra played the character of ‘Ali’ in Dhoom 2 ) and Anjali (Tulip Joshi ). Sanjay and his friend Riya (Bipasha Basu) live in Mumbai, while Anjali continues to reside in her hometown. Even though they lived apart, their friendship remained strong, but things weren’t as easy as they had been when they were children.
One morning, Anjali calls Sanjay to tell him about her marriage and invites him to it. This breaks Sanjay’s heart in a way he never imagined. Sanjay devastated, discovers that he still had romantic feelings for Anjali and tells Riya everything. Riya encourages him to declare his love for Anjali and to take a risk for his one-sided love story.
As a result, Sanjay and Riya begin to sabotage Anjali’s marriage by posing as a girlfriend and boyfriend in front of Sanjay and Anjali’s families.
