Sanju – The Storyline The movie starts with Sanjay’s initial; years when he was shooting for his very first movie ‘Rocky’. The movie was directed by his dad which he certainly didn’t like because his dad was very picky and would always criticize Sanjay for his mistakes. Because of this, Sanjay started using drugs, from basic to advanced, there was nothing that he hadn’t consumed. This even had him lose his girlfriend Ruby who married another guy.
Soon he got to know that his mother has been diagnosed with Pancreas cancer and had been battling for a year now. They take her to New York where Sanju meets Kamli who soon becomes his best friend. Kamli asks Sanju to quit using drugs and stay focused on his career. Right before the release of his first movie Sanju’s mother passes away and leaves a note saying that the premier shouldn’t stop. Sanju realizes his mistake and asks his father to get him out of this drug trap.
He is then sent to a rehab center in America where after a lot of learning he becomes clean and finally quits everything. When he returns home he meets his old friend and confronts him about what he has been doing to him, selling him drugs and making money out of his misery. After a few years when he is back on track and has done many great movies, due to Hindu Muslim war going on in the city, something happens that makes him suspected of staying in touch with the terrorist group too, but why and how is something you need to find out on your own.
