The Storyline of the Sholay Movie The Sholay movie opens up in a small village named Ramgarh where former police chief Thakur Baldev Singh contacts his old colleague and requests him to find out those two local thieves who once helped him prevent a train robbery. The movie shifts inside the prison where two close friends named Jai and Veeru have been released from jail.
Thakur meets them and offers them the price of Rs. 50, 000 to catch a terrible bandit named Gabbar Singh with an additional price of Rs. 20, 000 to hand over him alive. He takes them both to his village Ramgarh where he lives with his widowed daughter-in-law Radha. While exploring the village, Veeru meets a talkative horse cart driver named Basanti and falls for her.
However, the duo convinces the villagers to celebrate Holi as usual as it would provoke Gabbar to come out of his hideout and then they could confront and catch him. Things happen according to their plan and Gabbar along with his men attack the villagers. Veeru and Jay fight with them and also succeed in chasing them away but they are disappointed with Thakur’s act of not passing them a gun while they are fighting.
After that Thakur narrates to them the backstory of him and his family when they once faced Gabbar’s deadly attack. What has happened to Thakur’s family?
