Anek is a nail-biter that raises the bar of Bollywood movies’ content and finally records the other side of India in an interesting manner. It shows the day to day torture(not only physical but emotional and mental) faced by the north eastern separatists all round the country. The movie is directed by Anubhav Singha and stars Ayushmann Khurrana,starring some northeastern actresses like- Andrea Kevichusa and Deeplina Deka, to maintain the authenticity.
Anek – The Storyline Anek, as the word literally means plenty or more than one, directly targets the uncountable growth of northeastern separatists that are not even considered as count heads and are yet growing miserably. The movie tries to portray the neglected northeastern sect of the country who should be equally identified as Indian as a central Delhiite.
In the movie Ayushmann Khurrana, named Joshua plays the role of an undercover cop who tries to unite the northeastern part with the rest of India. And during this mission, he befriends a Northeastern boxer, named Aido who is shunned off on the basis of her fallacious pre assumed foreign identity that is unreasonably looked down upon.
