Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra shared the screen for the first time in Anjaana Anjaani, an out-of-the-box love story.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Anjaana Anjaani is a Romantic Musical starring Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor. It’s an unusual story of two strangers meeting in very outlandish circumstances and falling in love! The entire music album of Anjaana Anjaani was a major hit in 2010, and even today, its songs are one of the finest songs of Bollywood.
The Storyline of The Movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ Anjaana and Anjaani is a story of two strangers who meet while attempting to end their life at the Washington Bridge. Akash and Kiara have different reasons for being angry at life; while Kiara’s fiancé cheated on her, Akash made his company bankrupt and needs 12 million $ to repay the loan.
Unsuccessful at their first attempt at suicide, both of them end up in the same hospital room.
As the date of their discharge gets closer, they become friendly with each other, and Kiara takes Akash to her home as his apartment is seized by the bank.
After five unsuccessful attempts at killing themselves, Akash and Kiara decide to wait till New Year’s Eve, that is, 31 December 2009, to end their lives. In the meantime, they decide to make the most of their remaining time and fulfill their wishes. They help each other in fulfilling their last wishes.
One of Kiara’s wishes is to swim in the cold Atlantic Ocean, but Akash is bound by their pact and is forced to fulfill Kiara’s wish irrespective of the fact that he can’t swim. As a result of which, both of them end up drowning but are rescued by the same coast guard who mediated at the bridge.
Kiara’s depression bounces back as they return to normalcy; she tries to kill herself again and is rushed to the hospital. In the last few days, Akash realizes that he loves Kiara, and he plans a trip to Las Vegas with the hope of making her happy. Soon, Akash gets to know that Kiara is still in love with Kunal. Hence he advises her to go back and try to reconcile with him.
At the same time, Akash plans to begin afresh with the onset of the new year and move back to India. The movie ends with Kiara realizing his love for Akash, and the duo ends up together with a son.
