A “stuck in a time loop” science fiction romantic drama, Baar Baar Dekho starring Katrina Kaif who bagged the first spot in the list of most googled Bollywood celebrity of 2022 and Sidharth Malhotra who was last seen in Mission Majnu , as the main lead and Sayani Gupta, Rohan Joshi, and Ram Kapoor as the supporting cast was released on 9 September 2016.
It is the directorial debut of Nitya Mehra, who is also the director of shows like 24 and Made in Heaven . The film was written by the director Nitya Mehra, Anuvab Pal, and Sri Rao and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar.
The Storyline of the Movie “Baar Baar Dekho” Diya Kapoor(Katrina Kaif) and Jai Verma(Sidharth Malhotra) were destined to be together, and they have been together since they were 8. Jai aspires and becomes become a vedic mathematics professor, and on the other hand, Diya becomes an artist and wants to open her open art gallery. They both have different goals for the future as Jai wants to get a fellowship at Cambridge University, but Diya wishes to marry Jai.
Jai marries Diya out of his will, but the thought of his dreams getting shattered makes him change his mind. With all this happening, heartbroken Diya walks away from him. The Dramatic event starts when Jai wakes up directly on his honeymoon due to the time travel. He has no memories of past events.
Every night he sleeps, he wakes up in a different year and different scenario and is totally confused with all the incidents happening around him. In 2018, he woke up as a professor in Cambridge and about to be a father; in 2034, when he is about to get divorced; and in 2047, as a 60-year-old attending his mother’s funeral.
He then realizes that he has been so mad about his dream as a professor that his family is now totally broken, and he has lost the love of his life. With the help of the priest, he takes a vow to reunite his family and help them complete their dreams.
He now wakes up in the present and helps Diya in arranging and attending her art exhibition and uses this opportunity to rectify all the mistakes he has made.
