Though there are some famous Bollywood stars who are admired the most for their acting skills but still failed to receive a Filmfare Award as the Best Actor. Here is the list of those actors:
- Akshay Kumar
He has completed over 25 years in Bollywood and acted in more than 110 films, but failed to get an award as the best actor by Filmfare. Though, he has won the Filmfare award for the best actor in a negative role for “Ajnabee”. We hope Akshay Kumar will manage to get the best actor award for himself one day.
- Tabu
Even after doing so many powerful roles in the movies like “Maachis”, “Viraasat”, “Haider” and “Drishyam” and being nominated for the Best Actor (female) six times at Filmfare Awards, she never got an opportunity to receive one. She has won Filmfare awards in other categories like Critics’ Choice and Best Debut.
- Ajay Devgan
Being one of the most famous actors of Bollywood due to his expressive eyes and impressive acting, Ajay Devgan has proved to be unlucky in the matter of Filmfare Award for Best Actor. He has been nominated in the category of Best Actor at Filmfare Awards seven times but unable to receive one. Though, he has received 4 Filmfare Awards in other categories.
- Dharmendra
Dharmendra, unquestionably one of the most talented and senior actors on the silver screen, has completed 5 decades in the industry. Even after delivering a good number of super hit movies like Sholay, Yaadon Ki Baarat and Chupke Chupke, he never received an award as the best actor at Filmfare Awards. Nevertheless, he has been nominated at Filmfare Awards in the Best Actor category for more than 10 times.
- Shashi Kapoor
Considered to be one of the most romantic Heros in the 1960’s, Shashi Kapoor has never been nominated in the category of Best Actor at Filmfare Awards. Though he has been honored with a National Award for the Best Actor for his movie “Muhafiz” and the Filmfare Award as the Best Supporting Actor for the movie “Deewar”.
- Suniel Shetty
One of the most esteemed actors of Indian Cinema in the decade of the ’90s, Suniel Shetty has worked in over 100 movies. Especially known for his versatility and action, he has failed to receive a Filmfare Award for the Best Actor for any of his movies. However, he has received an award as the best villain at Filmfare Awards for his blockbuster movie “Dhadkan”.
- Urmila Matondkar
Urmila is believed to be one of the best actresses in the 90’s and became a sex symbol after her prominent role in the movie “Rangeela”. Being an extremely talented and beautiful actress, she played some very powerful roles in the movies like Pyar Tune Kya Kiya and Judai. However, she failed to collect an award as the best actor (Female) at Filmfare Awards.
- Shatrughan Sinha
Unarguable one of the most eminent actors of the Bollywood, Shatrughan Sinha has been nominated in the best actor category at Filmfare Awards. But has never been a recipient of any of those awards. Although, he has been honored with several other accolades for his powerful performances in his movies like “Tanhai” and “Paras”.
- Rajendra Kumar
Rajendra Kumar is also known as ‘Jubilee Kumar’ because most of his movies turned out to be the jubilee hits in the year 1960. Despite being nominated 3 times at Filmfare Awards in the category of the best actor, he failed to get one. However, he was honored with the Padma Shri Award in the year 1969.
- Mala Sinha
One of the most sought and beautiful actresses of Bollywood, Mala Sinha, played some prominent roles in the movies like “Maryada”, “Night in London”, “Geet”, “Aankhein” and many more.
