The Storyline of the Movie “Bunty Aur Babli” Bunty Aur Babli is the story of two small-town individuals, Rakesh Trivedi, played by Abhishek Bachchan, and Vimmi Saluja played by Rani Mukherji (recently seen in Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway
Rakesh is raised in a typical middle-class household where his father asks him to get a decent 9-to-5 job to support himself. Rakesh has different plans as he dreams of becoming a businessman and cannot see himself fitting into the 9-to-5 environment. When he realises that his father will never support his dream he decides to pack his bag and leave the house.

Vimmi’s character hails from a small village named Pankinagar. She has always dreamt for becoming of becoming a Miss India. She spends her time watching movies and researching supermodels. When her family pressurises her to give up on her dreams and arranges a marriage for her, she decides to leave her family for her dreams.
Rakesh and Vimmi come across each other and after realising how similar their stories are they decide to support each other in their respective journeys.
Vimmi takes part in a Miss India contest but fails to make any progress due to some disagreements and arguments. Rakesh on the other hand tries to pitch his entrepreneurial ideas to various entrepreneurs only to find out later that his idea has been stolen by someone.
Furious by the fact that someone else stole his years of hard work and was making easy money, Rakesh and Vimmi decide to con him to take back the money they believe rightfully belongs to them. This marks the beginning of their journey as con artists.
Rakesh and Vimmi then adopt the names ‘Bunty’ and ‘Babli’ to start coning people and eventually, this becomes their lifestyle. The friendship between the two blossoms into romance and they decide to get married to each other. While they enjoy their small family, they are unaware that DCP Dashrath Singh is trying to track them down.
Both Bunty and Babli start questioning their life choices when they realise that they will soon become parents. They decide to quit this lifestyle for the sake of their child. They try to lie low but eventually, DCP Dashrath arrests them.
Soon DCP Dashrath develops a soft corner for the couple when they share their stories and have heartfelt conversations. He lets them go as he is certain that they will not return to their criminal lifestyle again.
The movie ends when three years later Dashrath contacts them again. He offers the duo to work for the nation by helping in preventing other scammers from spreading their wings.
