On his way to scatter his grandfather’s ashes, a young man bumps into a runaway bride. Trying to help her, he finds himself cornered by the girl’s criminal family.
The movie ‘Chennai Express’ is an Indian Hindi-language action-comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Gauri Khan, and Karim Morani. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone , the film was initially titled Ready Steady Po but was later changed to Chennai Express. ‘Chennai Express’ was first released overseas on 08 August 2013 and a day later in India.
The movie has received mixed reviews from the public and has broken many box office records in India and abroad.
The Storyline of the Movie ‘Chennai Express’ The movie begins with the life of Rahul Mithaiwala (Shah Rukh Khan ). He is a single man nearing the age of 40 living in Mumbai and raised by his grandparents. His grandfather owns a chain of confectionery shops which goes to Rahul after his grandfather’s death. After his funeral, Rahul’s grandmother asks him to scatter his grandfather’s ashes in two places: Ganga and Rameswaram, to which he reluctantly agrees.
What troubles Rahul was the planned trip to Goa that he had made with his friends before the death of his grandfather. Rahul and his friends decide to dump the ashes at Goa without letting his grandmother know, but Rahul misses his train. He hops onto the next train that will take him to his destination and helps a girl and four other people to get on that train.
After helping them up, Rahul tries to flirt with the girl he had helped named ‘Meenamma’ (Meenamma) but fails terribly. The rest of the movie proceeds with the train journey, where it gets difficult for Rahul to escape these people. He didn’t know that this journey would turn his life upside down.
