The Storyline of the Movie ‘Darbar’ The movie begins with Aaditya Arunachalam (Rajnikanth), the Mumbai Police Commissioner, killing gangsters all over Mumbai in police encounters. His recent reckless killings had made him the target of the National Human Rights Commission of India.
When a former friend of Aaditya finds out about Aaditya’s daughter Valli’s (Nivetha Thomas) death, the movie continues in the past to a year ago when Aaditya was newly appointed as a Commissioner. Aaditya, upon his arrival, goes after the gangsters involved in drug trafficking and prostitution. He rescued several women and children but found himself in trouble when one of the child traffickers turned out to be Ajay Malhotra (Prateik Babbar), the son of an influential industrialist.
Aaditya does everything in his power to arrest Ajay and put him behind bars, eventually leading to Ajay’s death.
Soon after, Aaditya and his daughter get into a car accident, where Valli dies. The movie shifts back to the present, where Aaditya is still trying to find the real culprit. He wishes to seek revenge, but as the movie nears its end, he uncovers something much more dangerous.
