She went to Kasturba Balika Inter College, Varanasi for her schooling and completed her graduation from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. Like many girls, Garima dreamt of being an actress since she was a little girl. Hence, she went from Varanasi to Mumbai to fulfil her dream after her graduation.
Initially, Garima wanted to try her luck at acting after she finished her schooling but her parents were reluctant as her family did not have any ties in Mumbai or the Bollywood film industry. They made Garima change her plan and asked her to secure a graduation degree before she went to Mumbai.
