What will you do if you receive 200 kgs of gold out of the blue? Well, something like this happens to Joshi when a truck filled with 200 kgs of gold is abandoned at his house. Watch the movie to find out what he does with it.
Directed and written by Alphonse Puthren, Gold is a crime comedy that will make you wonder about all the possibilities that might come true if you were in Joshi’s place! Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, seen in Kaduva and Nayanthara, last appeared in Godfather as the main lead; the movie is a crime comedy that is neither black nor white; it navigates to the grey area.
The Storyline of The Movie ‘Gold’ Movie opens with Joshi’s mother complaining to him about a truck filled with speakers that have been parked at the entrance of their house. Joshi reports it to the police, but they can’t do much to help him and ask him to maintain the status quo for now.
Jassi goes on with his life with the truck still parked outside his house, when one day, his speaker stops working, and he decides to use one from the truck. That is when he realizes that they aren’t speakers, but gold bars painted speakers.
This gives birth to greed and a desire to change his life around in Joshi’s mind. He decides to not let this opportunity that presented itself to him go to waste and make the most of it. He devises a clever plan to melt these bars into gold biscuits and sell them in the market. When put into execution, Joshi sells the first gold biscuit for ₹ 45 lakhs in cash.
Though Joshi is not able to come to terms with reality, he decides to play it cool and keep it a secret, even from his mother, in order to avoid any suspicions that might arise.
Later, it was discovered that the truck belonged to Unnikrishnan, a rich businessman who was sending this truck filled with 200 kgs of gold to Idea Shaji as a dowry to get his only daughter married.
However, the truck was attacked by goons on the way, and the truck driver abandoned the truck in front of what seemed like a deserted house.
What will happen next? Will Joshi succeed in his plan to keep 200 kgs of gold with him? Will it remain his secret forever, or will Unnikrishnan find his gold and break Joshi’s plans? Will the police come to know the reality of speakers in the truck? Watch the movie to find out.
