It has been quite a long time since fans have seen Janhvi Kapoor. Well, if you are one of them too, we have a piece of good news. Janhvi Kapoor is back with another blockbuster named “Good Luck Jerry” on Hotstar.
It is a Hindi black comedy crime-based film directed by Siddharth Sen and written by Pankaj Matta. The movie is a remake of a 2018 Tamil movie named ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’. There’s a lot to know about this exceptionally incredible movie. So without any further due, let’s get started.
The Storyline The plot of the movie revolves around a young girl named Jaya “Jerry” Kumari who used to live in Bihar but since she lost her father moved to a small town in Punjab. There, she works in a massage parlor as an adult. Her mother sells vegetables for their daily living and her younger sister is a student.
They have a neighbor named Anil, who is secretly in love with Jerry’s mother and acts as the sister’s father only by being supportive all the time. Then there’s this other guy named Rinku who stalks Jerry even though she told him clearly that she isn’t interested.
One day Jerry’s mother falls sick and when taken to the hospital, she is diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. There, Jerry finds out that they need at least 25 lakh rupees for her mother’s treatment. Worried Jerry tries everything to take a loan for her mother’s treatment, but everything goes in vain. One time she unintentionally hits an absconder in the market who turns out to be a drug smuggler who is running away from the police. But being hit by Jerry he is somehow caught by the police and they thank Jerry for helping them.
Soon enough, the drug smuggler’s boss confronts Jerry that they have more bags of drugs hidden in the market but due to heavy security they are unable to get them back. Hence, they ask Jerry if she could help them as they have her younger sister held as their hostage. Jerry somehow manages to get those bags back from the market only to find out that her younger sister found a bag of cash and decided to keep it with her. This was the time when Jerry decides to be a drug smuggler to earn money for her mother’s treatment. What’s there to watch is how will she be able to be a smuggler now and what would be in her way being the same.
