Imtiaz Ali’s road drama film ‘Highway’ is one of the blockbusters movies of super talented Alia Bhatt who started her career as a lead actor by giving a commendable performance in the romantic comedy Student of the Year and is currently shooting for Brahmastra Part 2 . This movie basically shows how two people having horrific pasts unite and overcome their childhood fear that was ruining their present.
This movie received positive reviews from the critics and became a commercial success not only because of Alia Bhat’s remarkable performance but also because of the presence of Randeep Hooda who got so much appreciation for playing wonderful roles in various movies including Sultan , Kick , and Cocktail .

The Storyline of the ‘Highway’ Movie The movie revolves around Veera and Mahabirwho become free from their haunting pasts after meeting each other. Veera, the daughter of a business tycoon, is abducted by a group of people from the petrol station just one day before her marriage, which she doesn’t want to do. They take her to various locations to escape from the police, but when their truck is caught by police officers, then Veera hides and gives the reason that she is enjoying the journey, so she does not want to go back to her earlier life.
Gradually, she starts loving Mahabir’s company and shares the darkest incident of her life with him. She stated that when she was just nine years old, she was physically abused by her own uncle. She was living a fearful life before this journey, but now she experienced absolute freedom and peace.
After that, Mahabir reveals that he left his home at a very young age because he and his mother were both abused by his father.
They start liking each other with each passing day and experience real happiness until the police do not shoot Mahabir. Then, the heartbroken Veera is brought back home. She exposes his uncle in front of everyone and questions his father about why he did not warn her to be aware of the devils present in her own house.
After putting out all her fear, pain, and suffering, she leaves her home and starts a new peaceful life in the mountains.
