‘Jaane Jaan’ is inspired by the Novel ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ by Keigo Higashino and has been released internationally with the same title.

The Storyline of the Movie Jaane Jaan The movie opens up in Kalimpong town, where a mathematical genius Naren Vyas teaches at a local school. He has a crush on his next-door lady, Maya D’Souza, a single mother who lives with her 15-year-old daughter Tara. As he is an introverted personality, he is unable to express his feelings towards her but he is a regular visitor to her small restaurant.
One day, while Maya is in her restaurant, she confronts her abusive ex-husband Ajit who has visited her from Mumbai to settle things down. Maya is disturbed by his appearance as the situation hits her past traumas given by Ajit. She asks him to leave but he follows her to her apartment where he reveals his intention to sell Tara and make money off of her.
Out of pure rage, she attacks him with a heater that turns into a violent scuffle and the fight ends up killing him. She didn’t intend to kill him but now she is panicking and confused due to the situation she never faced. Meanwhile, Naren heads to her apartment as he hears some noise, and learns about the murder attempt by Maya unintentionally. Naren asks to assist her with a situation and she immediately agrees. Now what would Naren do?
