The Storyline of the Movie Mission Raniganj It’s a story about the disaster of 1989 that occurred in Raniganj coalfield, which is the first mining coalfield of India, established by East India Company. Like any other day, the men of Raniganj town go to work in mining. Some of them complete their work hours and go home and some decide to do overtime due to a special event at their home.
As there is more than one tunnel of mining, they distribute themselves and groups enter different tunnels to do mining. There is a procedure to do small blasts inside the tunnel to collect more coal. However, one of the blasts hit the area that is just below the river, and it resulted in a flood inside the tunnel.
All the workers run to rescue themselves but unfortunately, only a few of them succeed in it and remain stuck inside the tunnel. The next day, this news spread around that area and the villagers started protesting in front of the gate of coal mining. Meanwhile, Jaswant Singh Gill reaches the spot and ensures everyone that he will rescue the remainers.
Along with him, the higher officers of coal mining do meetings and set a plan to secure the workers who are expected to be alive inside the tunnel.
