Storyline of The Movie “Is Love Enough Sir?” Ashwin (Vivek Gomber) a foreign graduate comes back to Mumbai, leaving behind his dream to be a writer after knowing that his brother was unwell. Ashwin stays in Mumbai to support his family emotionally when his brother dies after a prolonged illness. On the other hand, the household help of Ashwin (Ratna Dixit) is an independent woman with immense self-respect. She works in Mumbai to be financially independent, helps her family, and encourages her sister to study. She wants to become a fashion designer, and thus designs new clothes in her leisure time.
Ashwin and Sabina are lovers and Ratna just works in their house. The film opens with Ratna being called back to work after Ashwin’s fiancé Sabina leaves him and returns home. From onscreen we can conclude that Sabina had cheated on him and now Ashwin is not really in love with her. He stays low-spirited for days until Ratna, the maid who is unable to see him unhappy, tries to boost his morale by narrating a story of losing her husband after just four months of marriage and at the age of nineteen. But, now she is an independent woman supporting her family. She says, “life never stops,” suggesting that we should move on with our life in every case.
Despite the possibility that Ashwin’s house may damage Ratna’s reputation, she stays on to finish the job. Eventually, we learn that Ashwin is an open-hearted person who doesn’t care about class differences and respects Ratna and her work. When a friend of Ashwin scolds Ratna for accidentally spilling a drink, he defends her. Ratna tells Ashwin about her dream to become a fashion designer as she seeks his permission to attend tailoring classes, and she even helps him to complete his book. Ratna sympathises with Ashwin as he cannot follow his dream due to his family conditions.
Over time, Ashwin and Ratna fall in love, and Ashwin tells Ratna about how much he starts liking her. But, Ratna refuses due to social and class differences, but Aswin tries to convince her.
