Jiya Shankar- Early Life Jiya was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 17 April 1995. Unfortunately, when she turned 13 her parents separated and filed a divorce. This became a traumatic situation for her. She was asked in an interview about being criticised by people, she said “bohot, I was criticised since I was little, meri khud ki family ne criticise kiya hai, obviously agar family wale kare hai toh baaki kyu nahi karenge. I was very shy and zyada baat nahi karti thi.” Furthermore, she told that as she was shy and introverted, people considered her as dumb. She said, “Even if I was dumb, these are kids, ye mitti ka dher hai and you have to shape them in a beautiful pot and that’s what people around me were supposed to do, especially my family.” Then she praised her mom and said that she made her do these things and that is why she is successful.
After my parents divorce, people said “isse nahi ho payega” and told my mom “isko kyu le aayi saath mai, isko rehne diya hota baap ke saath mai.’’ Talking about her college days, Shankar said she used to bunk so many classes because of depression as she was scared that people would laugh at her and make fun of her but soon she found courage and fought.
Furthermore, in Bigg Boss OTT 2, Jiya revealed that “Shankar” is not her father’s last name but she took this surname for herself.
Jiya Shankar- Career Jiya first made her acting debut in 2013, in a Telugu film named Entha Andanga Unnave, then after 2 years she made her debut in Bindass’s channel “Love by Chance” as Alisha Rai opposite Karan Singhmar. In the year 2016, she played the lead role of Shreya Dixit Rathore in Queens Hain Hum. In the year 2017, she again made her debut in a film, but this time in a Tamil film named Kanavu Variyam.
The girl was frequently seen in South Indian movies and her last Telugu movie was Hyderabad Love Story where she played her role as Vaishnavi. But what is more interesting is that she got a big role in a television series known as Kaatelal & Sons where she portrayed Susheela Ruhail Solanki opposite Paras Arora.
Ritesh Deshmukh was impressed by her acting skills, so he offered her to become a part of Ved , which she accepted and the film collected Rs 75 crore. She received appreciation for her acting skills as she was the fresh face in Marathi films. In August 2022, she is a part of the television serial, Pischachini.
Not just these shows, but she has also played several roles in televisions serials like Gumrah, Twists Wala Love, Pyaar Marriage Shhh, MTV Big F, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Meri Hanikarak Biwi, Laal Ishq, Virgin Bhaskar and more.

Jiya Shankar in Bigg Boss OTT 2 Jiya and Jad Hadid shared a special bond with each other but Jad saw her actions and was disappointed with her. He said “I was very disappointed, I kept covering her wrongs during her captaincy so that she could stay happy and this is what she gave me for my love and genuineness for her. She chose Avinash above me and she keeps telling me that she loves me the most in the house.”
During an argument with Jad, Jiya revealed “I don’t have a father, and I know what that means. I never call anyone dad, and I have never given that position to anybody in my life, and I gave it to you. She later broke down and admitted, Jiya Shankar, Shankar is not my father’s name. It is not my last name. Shankar is not my real name. I don’t use my father’s name, I don’t use his last name. I am saying this in front of zillion people. So that is how much you meant to me.”
Many people want to know about Jiya’s past relationships, she has not been informed something yet but during chatting with other housemates she said “I was so in love that I couldn’t get out. Everyone tried but I just couldn’t. It took me a year to finally leave that behind.” Also, Jiya had a small talk with Pinvilla where she opened up about her love life and said “This generation is a little F****d up. People are confused, I don’t know or those are the kind of people I’m meeting, what it is, I have no idea but a lot of women or men can relate with me that this generation is F****d up.”
