Storyline of the Punjabi Movie “Kali Jotta” Wamiqa Gabbi oozes energy throughout her performance as Anant, a lawyer who returns to her hometown after a long time. She starts finding her old teacher Rabiya (Neeru Bajwa), after meeting her school friends at a get-together. It seems that something is not right because she is informed that Rabiya is mentally unstable, and everyone who knows her starts acting strange upon meeting Anant.
Flashback scenes reveal Rabiya to be a cheerful person who loves Deedar (Satinder Sartaaj). Though he likes her too, he is hesitant to tell her about his feelings. She teases him all the time, but they both fail to express their feelings. Later, Rabiya gets a job as a teacher in a government school and becomes financially independent.
People judge her for her frank and vocal behavior. Then, Deedar gets engaged to another woman and breaks Rabiya’s heart. She is a young single lady without a father, and thus every man in society tries to take advantage of her, and when she retaliates, they start bad-mouthing her character. She is mistreated by the men in society, which leaves her abandoned, broken, and alone.
