An Indian mother fights for years to keep her custody rights after the Norwegian foster care system takes away her children.
The movie ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ is a newly released biographical film based on a true story of an Indian couple. Its plot is similar to the autobiography titled, ‘The Journey of a Mother’. The film stars (Rani Mukerji Last seen in Mardaani 2 ), Anirban Bhattacharya also appeared in Hello season 3 , Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh recently acted in Rocket Boy Season 2 .
It is directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani. The film was released on 17 March 2023, and since then has been receiving an immense amount of love from the audience.
The Storyline of the Movie ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ Debika Chatterjee (Rani Mukerji), an Indian mother, is the focus of the movie. She lives in Norway’s Stavanger with her husband and two children. The family’s life had been pretty normal until two people from the child welfare service start visiting their house on a daily basis.
And when one day, the Norwegian Child Welfare Services take her children away from her on the grounds of improper treatment of children, the suspicious behavior of these two workers begins to make sense.
Debika and her husband file an appeal for custody of their children after this, but the government denies them their rights. However, Debika continues to fight for her children despite experiencing constant loss.
