The movie is a remake of the Tamil film, Maanagaram.
Mumbaikar movie directed by Santosh Sivan, who has known for his works in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi Cinema. He gave many amazing movies to the film industry, like Dil Se , Fiza , Darbar , and many others.
Now, Mumbaikar is written by Himanshu Singh, and hats off to the writer for writing an amazing script. The film is about random incidents of people who are living in this big city. Some local gangsters kidnap the son of a mafia don. Each and every character has played an amazing role, while the movie has received mixed reviews as some people think that some characters needed a strong background story.
The Hindu wrote, “The film marks his Hindi debut, but Vijay Sethupathi is a little too spectacular for the size of the film. As for Sivan, Mumbaikar might well count as yet another directorial venture that doesn’t match his stature as a cinematographer”.

The Storyline of the Movie Mumbaikar Mumbaikar will make you feel like you are in a time machine as it just looks like a story straight from the nineties. The film has everything, from gangsters repeatedly saying ‘apun’ to showing people their dignity and a lover who basically loves stalking his girlfriend.
The movie begins with two gangsters scaring a man in a cafe by threatening him that they will throw acid on the woman they think is the man’s girlfriend. The funniest part of the movie is when the acid attacker pours acid on his own pants. ‘Ah! So much pain. But, of course, he deserves it. ‘
Then the story shifts to Vijay Sethupathi, Munnu looking at his own reflection in the mirror, vowing to become the coolest gangster by looking at the stickers of Malon Brando’s Don Corleone. Not just these things, but the movie gets more intense when a gangster kidnaps a child unaware of his identity.
The film is about a group of several people who are brought together to show the life of a big city.
