The Storyline of the Movie ‘Naane Varuven’ The movie is centered around the twin brothers Prabhu and Kathir, who get separated after a series of incidents and go on to lead their lives separately on their terms. Though Prabhu and Kathir are spitting images of each other, their personality, attitude, and principles in life are totally opposite.
On the one hand, we have Prabhu, who is disciplined, well-mannered, and decent; on the other hand, we have Kathir, who has serial killer capabilities. As the story moves forward, it is shown that Prabhu gets married and has a daughter. He loves his daughter, Sathya, immensely and refuses to have a second child as he doesn’t want to share the love he has for his daughter.
On the other hand, Kathir’s life wasn’t as rosy as Prabhu’s. After being abandoned by his mother, he struggled to meet even his basic requirements of food and shelter, and many people tried to abuse him. In a fit of revenge, Kathis ended up killing all of them. Things start to get better when he meets Madhuri (Elli AvrRam, a mute woman, and instantly falls in love. They have twin boys, Sonu and Monu, and lead a beautiful life in a remote cabin in a forest.
Nevertheless, Kathir’s fairytale world came to an end when Sonu saw him ruthlessly killing a bunch of terrorists who disrespected him in front of his family. Frightened on seeing this side of his father, he tells his mother and brother about it even after being told by Kathir not to do so. As a result, Madhuri wanted to leave along with the boys. The fear of losing his family once again and leading a lonely life led Kathir to lock up his wife and sons. Madhuri’s unsuccessful attempt to flee without Kathir’s notice makes things uglier as it leads to Madhuri’s and Sonu’s accidental murder by Kathir.
In Prabhu’s life, too, things take a scary turn when he notices that his daughter Sathya has started talking to herself. Prabhu plants a monitor in her room and is shocked at what he sees next, Sathya breaks the monitor as someone tells her he will kill Prabhu if she doesn’t do this. To find out what’s wrong with her daughter, Prabhu takes Sathya to the psychiatrist and to ghostbusters.
It is later revealed that Sathya is possessed by Sonu’s spirit, who wants Prabhu to kill Kathir as his atrocities are getting out of hand now. Prabhu decides to do whatever Sonu wants to save his daughter’s life. He, along with the psychiatrist, and Sathya, travel to Chopda, a North Indian hill town where Kathir resides with Monu.
What will happen when Prabhu and Kathir come face to face after all those years? Will Prabhu be successful in killing Kathir and saving Sathya and Monu? Or Will Kathir kill Prabhu? Watch the movie to find out.
