In a recent interview with BBC, Nick Jonas admitted he is aware of being addressed as ‘Jiju’ and enjoys all the new nicknames.
The recent grand opening ceremony of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center grabbed the headlines for many reasons. The star-studded event witnessed global icons including Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Nick Jonas but what grabbed everyone’s attention was the Indian paparazzi’s hilarious comments and nicknames for the stars.
While some names were mispronounced, some celebs got their own version of desified nicknames. Our very own global icon, Priyanka Chopra attended the event with her husband, Nick Jonas.
Paparazzi were excited to welcome back the national jiju and addressed him the whole time as jiju and Nickwa. While Indians found the paparazzi hilarious for coming up with such nicknames we have now got Nick’s reaction to the same. Ever since marrying Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas has received love from the Indian audience. While this love can be a bit weird at times, recently he was trolled for glaring at Priyanka Chopra Jonas .
Nick was recently interviewed by a BBC talk show host who teasingly asked Nick if she can address him as jiju . Nick adorably said ‘Sure’ and went ahead to share his recent experience, “A lot of people call me Jiju. We were just in Mumbai recently, my wife and I for the Cultural Center the Ambanis opened and it was a great event. All the photographers on the red carpet were calling me Jiju.”
The host asked him if he was aware of his new nickname and made him listen to an audio clip from the same event where a paparazzi can be heard calling him ‘ Ae Nickwa’, to which he responded “Yes, I did hear that.” He further added “It was very good to be back. I love India. It has been a couple of years since I’ve been there because of Covid, so this was a really fun trip. So yes, great to hear the many nicknames I have now.”
Some people commented on how sporty Nick is and admired his love for his wife and her culture.
On the work front, Priyanka was recently seen attending the Bulgari event in Paris.
He cutely admitted his love for samosa and jalebi and that he cannot handle pickles as they are too spicy for him. Undoubtedly Nick is adored by us Indians and he never fails to reciprocate the love and win our hearts all over again.
