Shaad Ali’s Ok Jaanu depicts the dilemma faced by most modern couples, whether to prioritize their career over their romantic life or vice versa! It brought back the Aashique 2 superhit jodi of Aditya Roy Kapoor, recently seen in The Night Manager , and Shraddha Kapoor, AKA Stree, in a movie after their breakup. Hence the movie had huge expectations. However, it failed to make a mark at the box office as opposed to its Tamil counterpart ‘Ok Kanmani’, which was a financial success. The Storyline of The Movie ‘Ok Jaanu’ It is a conventional story of a boy meeting a girl and both falling in love eventually, with the Gen Z twist of no strings attached live-in relationship. Adi Gunjal is a video game developer from Lucknow who currently resides in Delhi.
He has high hopes for life and desires to work for Mark Zuckerburg someday.
On the other hand, we have Tara Agnihotri, an extremely ambitious architect who is going to Paris for further studies. Unbeknownst to them, their lives and plans were about to change when they met each other. Tara and Adi grew fond of each other quickly and decided to move in together. They really enjoy each other’s company, and time passes by, turning their fondness into strong feelings for each other.
Their happy times take a detour when Tara gets her visa and has to leave for Paris soon. In a little while, Adi also gets a job offer from the states. Both of them were conflicted about how to break out this news to the other person without breaking their heart.
However, both of them handle the situation maturely and decide to make their last ten days together the best by putting everything aside and just focusing on one another. But fights and arguments start creeping in slowly as the ten days are about to end.
What will it be for Adi and Tara, career over love or love over career? Will they sacrifice love and fly away to their respective destinations or stay back to be with each other? Watch the movie to find answers.
