Pagglait is a comedy-drama movie that is a Netflix exclusive release. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, and Achin Jain under the eminent banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. This movie is a unique story of a girl whose husband dies soon after their marriage and she gets to know about his affair. But how she deals with it, is truly an example of women’s empowerment. Sanya Malhotra and Sayani Gupta recently appeared in Four More Shots Please season 3 , beautifully depicting two different colors from the spectrum of womanhood. The movie was well-accepted by the audience and managed to score a 6.9/10 IMDb rating.
Storyline of the Movie “Pagglait ” Aastik, the son of the ‘Giri family’ settled in Lucknow, dies suddenly. Relatives from far and wide are coming, weeping, asking about the well-being of the family. But, the gossip goes about the property. In the midst of all this, Sandhya, the wife of Aastik is all alone in her room and keeps checking her Facebook. Secretly asks for chips and eats them. She is neither crying nor regretting the loss of her husband.
On hearing the news of Aastik, Sandhya’s friend Nazia comes to her. Not only Nazia but also the mourning parents of Sandhya are shocked by her behavior. Meanwhile, Sandhya gets 50 lakhs of insurance which Aastik had made her the only nominee. As soon as this 50 lakh comes, there is a lot of shift in the temperament of relationships.
After some time passes, Sandhya tells her friend that Aastik had an extra-marital affair. Sandhya realized that she could not forgive him for certain things. Not only Aastik, but slowly Sandhya’s anger also reflects on her mother, for whom the daughter’s marriage was always the biggest responsibility. Her anger also gets navigated toward the family members, who sit in the next room discussing her second marriage.
But Sandhya’s meeting with Aastik’s girlfriend (Sayani Gupta) is a turning point for him. She says, “Just like Aastik got a new body in these 13 days, we also got a new life in these 13 days..” In the end, whatever decision Sandhya takes for her life, she forgives Aastik and moves forward.
