Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter has so many secrets and is even a part of many controversies.

Born on February 24, 1972, Pooja Bhatt is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Loraine Bright who later changed her name to Kiran Bhatt. Soon Mahesh Bhatt got separated from her and re-married Soni Razdan. Pooja made her first debut in “Daddy” which was directed by her father only.

She got appreciated for her performance when she played opposite Aamir Khan in Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi. Furthermore, she did so many movies till 2001 and after that, Bhatt focused more on production. With all the fame, controversies appear too.

Pooja Bhatt Background

Bhatt studied at A.F Petit Girl’s School, Mumbai. After high school, she was cast in Daddy and after that, she became a renowned face in cinema. At the age of 24, she caught the attention of people as she posed naked in a magazine, where her body was just painted with beautiful colours. Her fans were shocked as she made this bold move. Bhatt also has directed many films and has even been cast in many ’90s movies. Her last series Bombay Begums grasped attention. She even cast in her self-made web series that also became a part of controversies.

Also, there were several rumours that Pooja Bhatt has dated many actors like Aamir Khan, Sohail Khan, Bobby Deol, Fardeen Khan, Suneel Darshan, Aditya Pancholi, and many more. She started smoking when she was 23 years old but later on, quit it. Bhatt went to rehab as she was addicted to drinking liquor.

Pooja Bhatt- Career

Pooja is a film director, an actress, and a filmmaker. Her half-sister is Alia Bhatt and she also has a cousin in the entertainment industry who is popular for his movies, the one and only Emraan Hashmi. During an interview, Pooja accepted that she was in love with a guy when she was 12 years old and when she turned 16, she came into a relationship with the same person.

When she turned 17, her uncle Mukesh Bhatt offered her a movie but she refused as her boyfriend said no. But the next year, Mahesh Bhatt cast her in Daddy where she portrayed the life of a teenager in a relationship with an alcoholic dad. Bhatt even received an award for her performance at Filmfare Award.

After this her biggest solo hit was Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi which was a remake of the Hollywood film, It Happened One Night. The film marked progress in Bhatt’s life as after the movie she appeared in Stardust. Stardust is an Indian monthly magazine.

Then she worked opposite Sanjay Dutt in Sadak, Junoon, Janam, and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi. Furthermore, she became a well-known face in cinema as each year she was cast in at least one movie.

Pooja has worked with famous personalities such as Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, and Sunny Deol. In 1997, she casted in Tamanna which received National Film Award For Best Film On Other Social Issues. In the 2000’s her last movie was an Indian English drama, Everybody Says I’m Fine.

Moreover, she focused on directing movies rather than casting in them. She directed, Paap, Holiday, Dhokha, Kajraare, and Jism 2. In 2020 she directed Sadak 2, which is a requel of Sadak that was a commercial success in 1991. Her half-sister, Alia played the main lead in the movie. Last but not least, she directed a web series in 2021, known as Bombay Begums which received immense appreciation from the audience.

After so many years, in 2022 she starred in a crime-thriller Indian film, Chup: Revenge of the Artist.

Pooja Bhatt Controversies

Pooja Bhatt made derogatory comments about Karishma Kapoor’s parents, Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Later in an interview, Karishma said “Please tell me what my mistake is. Pooja Bhatt said nasty things about my parents and I also gave a befitting reply to her because she has no right to say anything about my parents.”

From the beginning, Mahesh Bhatt has been a part of controversies in Bollywood. Mahesh Bhatt was seen kissing Pooja Bhatt and that picture sparked tensions as people didn’t like that and questioned how a father can do a lip-lock with his own daughter. Mahesh Bhatt also said that “If Pooja had not been my daughter, I would have married her.”

The statement shocked people around the world. Furthermore, during an interview Pooja was asked about her relationship with her second mother she said “In the beginning, like I said, we (Soni and I) were total strangers and she was my enemy. But they say na, that time heals all wounds. It healed my heartaches as well. We began by saying hi, hello and then onto making small talk. It took off from there and now we are good friends. It’s just of late but mom too has started speaking to Soni. Dad and I didn’t try to make them friends. It was on their own that they did so. Done mutually on their own. Now they get along fine.”

Pooja Bhatt inside Bigg Boss House

A few days ago, Pooja Bhatt and Abhishek Malhan had to do a task together and talk to people in order to entertain them. She revealed the fact that she is single and runs the house on her own. She said “Hum sab apne family ko miss kar rahen hain, aur hum sabka koi na koi bahar wait kar raha hai, but main single aurat hoon aur mera koi nahi hai ghar chalane ke liye.”

She slammed Abhishek Malhan for body shaming Bebika Dhruve. She added, “Mujhe bhi Tun Tun sunna khatakta hai, kyunki jis duniya mein main rehti hoon auraton ko Tun Tun nahi bolte, but I let it go because I think yehi hai yahan ka vibe… logon ko koi problem hai nahi isse.”

Sadak actress said “For the first time I felt Abhishek was insecure about how I give attention to Bebika and this is weird because I have never stopped anyone from talking or supporting a person who they like. Then why do I get questioned?

Earlier we saw Pooja and Jiya talking to each other nicely. But Pooja got into an argument with Jiya and things heated up immediately. Pooja called Jiya “temperamental” and Jiya called her double standards. The conversation began when Bhatt taunted Jiya for her makeup, “Go put your make-up on and chill out”. Jiya replied in defense, “I have put my make-up on and I have curled my hair, I love it this way”.

Pooja then told Falaq Naazz that her game is getting affected because she is being friends with Jiya. While Jiya was seen defending herself, Pooja yelled at her, “I am not talking to you. Now, shut the f**k up. Shut up”. As Jiya called out to Pooja for abusing her, Pooja continued speaking and said, “You don’t frighten me and you don’t impress me either.”
