After her confession about being treated like an outcast in Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra has yet again revealed a seamier side of the industry when she recalled a ‘dehumanizing’ experience with a director.
Priyanka Chopra has been in the headlines in the recent past for multiple reasons. From opening up about being mistreated in Bollywood to attending the Bulgari event in Venice , the global icon has created quite a stir on the internet.
In a recent interview, the Dil Dhadakne Do actress revealed that a filmmaker ‘needed to see her underwear’ while she was working for the film as an undercover agent. She further added that it was a dehumanizing moment and hence she walked out of the film.
The actress recalled the incident to be from the early 2000s when she was still trying to find a place of herself as an actress in the industry. She stated “I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy — obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing [at a time]. I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why is anybody coming to watch this movie?”
Priyanka did not take any name but fans are furious to know yet another seamier side of the Bollywood. The actress further revealed “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.” On the work front, Priyanka’s latest American spy series Citadel has been released on Amazon Prime Video and is doing well. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa which also stars Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the lead.
