The daughters of the Maharaja claimed that if the movie distorts the facts, it will tarnish the image and reputation of the Maharaja, and they objected to the film, saying that no permission was sought from them. Sandeep Singh, co-founder of Legend Studios, argued that there was no permission needed from the heirs and this was just an act of publicity by the Maharaja’s family.
Originally, the film was supposed to be made by Omang Kumar of Legend Studios, but after the controversy, Vikash Verma took over as its new director.

About Maharaja Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja Digvijay Singh was born on September 18, 2895, during the British Raj and completed his education at Rajkumar College, Malvern College, and University College London. Upon the passing of his uncle, who had adopted him as the heir, Digvijaysinhji became the Maharaja Jam Sahib in 1933 and continued his uncle’s legacy by following his policies of development and public service.
Furthermore, during the Second World War, Sir Digvijaysinhji served on the Imperial War Cabinet and the National Defense Council, along with the Pacific War Council. In 1942, the Maharaja established the Polish Children’s Camp in Jamnagar – Balachadi.
After five decades, the Polish government honored the Maharaja Jam Saheb by naming the square in their capital ‘The Good Maharaja Square’.
