A nice attempt to showcase the secular society of India by Yashraj Films
We all know that Vicky Kaushal is a talented actor of the current generation; he proved his mettle with movies like Uri , Sardar Udham , Sanju , Raazi , and many more. Yet again, he is back with another banger, “The Great Indian Family,” with Miss World Manushi Chiller, who was last seen in Samrat Prithviraj against Akshay Kumar.
The Storyline of the Movie The Great Indian Family
The story of Ved Vyas Tripathi, nicknamed Billu, aka Bhajan Kumar (Kaushal), who was raised in a devoutly religious and traditional pandit household, is told in the movie TGIF, which is set in the tiny hamlet of Balrampur. He discovers one day that he is a Muslim by birth. Everything changes during the family’s crisis, or at least that’s what we’re led to believe.
Kumud Mishra, Tripathi’s father (who was away for teerth darshan when this information was given to him), Chacha Manoj Pahwa, Chachi Alka Amin, Bua Sadiya Siddiqui, and sister Srishti Dixit all dealt with this information in different ways.
Additionally, Yashpal Sharma and his son, Aasif Khan, are dishonest pandits who attempt to take advantage of the circumstances to secure a contract for a lavish wedding.
On the other hand, Jasmeet (Manushi Chillar) is introduced by the creators as Vicky’s potential love interest. Sadly, her character never develops beyond being a prop, and because she is Sikh, she is ultimately exploited as just another example to demonstrate religious tolerance. Chillar offers nothing with such a weak performance, and let’s not even talk about how boringly chemistry-less she is with Kaushal.
