Rannvijay Singha is considered among the most acclaimed Indian actors, television personalities, and video jockeys of our time.
Rannvijay is known for his appearance on MTV Roadies. Not only this but he has also featured in several Bollywood films such as Toss: A Flip of Destiny, London Dreams, and others.
These are things you probably already knew about Rannvijay Singha, but what about all the things you don’t know about India’s most famous video jockey?
In this article, we will be showing you 5 things you probably didn’t know about R. Singha!
He Planned to Join the Military
As soon as he graduated college, Rannvijay Singha completed all the tests and requirements to join the military.
Since his father is a career military man, it seemed natural for Rannvijay to follow in his footsteps and this would have made him the sixth generation in his family to have joined the Indian armed forces.
However, as he was waiting for his military acceptance letter, he fell upon an ad for a reality show on MTV called Roadies.
Being lured in by the grand prize which was a Honda Karizma bike, Singha decided to apply for the show and was accepted – the rest is history!
He Loves Sneakers
Besides bikes, superheroes, basketball, and traveling, Rannvijay is obsessed with shoes. Actually, the famous VJ has more than 400 pairs of shoes in his wardrobe!
Speaking of his love for basketball and Air Jordan sneakers, he was once quoted saying, “My sneaker journey started in 1993 when I first discovered my love for basketball. Like any budding baller of the time I was in awe of the OG Micheal Jordan.
Watching him dominate the hardwood day in and day out I began to believe that the magic came straight from his Air Jordan sneakers. Ball culture is all about flaunting heat on and off the court. As my love for the game grew so did my love for sneakers and that’s how the sneakerhead in me was born.”
He Keeps Fit Without Hitting the Gym
Being a fitness lover, Rannvijay Singha makes it a point to exercise daily. He therefore never misses out on his 10 km run every alternate day.
Unlike others, he considers fitness a lifestyle rather than an extra activity that must be performed on a daily basis just to look good on camera.
The most surprising thing about him is that he stays fit without going to the gym. The key to his fitness is running, engaging in various sports, army drills, and making all this part of his daily routine.
He Performs All His Stunts Himself
While most celebrities hire stuntmen to perform risky stunts, Ranvijay performs all of them himself.
One of his most famous stunts was in the episode of Pukaar where Rannvijay rode his bike on the longest skywalk in the city by himself at a high speed of 80 km/h.
Rannvijay who was following his enemies on the skywalk performed the stunt so efficiently that it surprised even veteran action directors Allen Amin and Director Vipul Shah.
He is the Brand Ambassador for Betway
Ranvijay Singha was recently appointed as the main brand ambassador for the sports betting product of Betway in India.
Singha takes over as Betway brand ambassador after cricketing legend Kevin Pieterson who served a 2-year stint as Betway’s ambassador to India.
Betway is one of the most trusted betting platforms in India as it was founded all the way back in 2006 and now has millions of customers all over the world, including many right here in India.
It is no coincidence that Rannvijay Singha has chosen to partner up with Betway. The partnership makes sense from Betway’s perspective, as Singha is a well-respected celebrity who can add some additional trust to their brand name which is beneficial in India where many people are still skeptical when it comes to online betting sites.
